Daphne call - Action grants to support transnational projects to combat sexual harrassment and sexual violence against women - JUST/2015/RDAP/AG/SEXV

 General Objectives: The call aims to co-fund transnational projects to combat sexual harassment and sexual violence against women and girls, in line with the specific objective to prevent and combat all forms of violence against children, young people and women, as well as violence against other groups at risk, in particular groups at risk of violence in close relationships, and to protect victims of such violence (Daphne).

 Actions funded:

- training and cooperation of relevant professionals (health services, police, the judiciary, social workers, teachers, employers, trade union representatives, university staff etc.) to better prevent and respond to these forms of violence, including through the establishment of formal or informal procedures and support programmes to respond to cases;

- development and practical implementation of modules and/or materials to train and educate children (boys and girls), young people, men and/or women to prevent sexual harassment and/or sexual violence in these contexts by bringing about attitudinal and behavioural changes with regard to gender roles, stereotyping and sexualisation, and to educate about the unacceptability of such violence and raise awareness of victims' rights.

 Priority topics:

The priority of this call is to prevent and combat sexual harassment and/or sexual violence against women and girls, in particular in one or more of the following contexts: the workplace, in schools and universities and through new technologies and social media. Projects on sexual harassment or sexual violence in the workplace may focus on specific work sectors. Projects targeted in particular at vulnerable groups and/or at engaging men in combating sexual harassment and sexual violence are welcome.

Eligible applicants:  Applicants and partners must comply with the following requirements:

  1. Legal status: Applicants and partners must be legally constituted public or private organisations, or international organisations.
  2. Non-profit: Bodies and organisations which are profit-oriented can apply, be it as applicant or as partner, only in partnership with non-profit or public organisations.
    Non-profit organisation’ can be a legal entity that is by its legal form non-profit-making; or has a legal or statutory obligation not to distribute profits to its shareholders or individual members.
  3. Eligible country: Applicant and partners must be legally established in an eligible country. This is not applicable for International organisations.

 Eligibility of the Application:

-  The project must be transnational and must be submitted by a partnership of eligible organisations. For the purpose of this call, the proposal must be submitted by organisations (applicant and partner(s)) from at least three different eligible countries. Please note that any associate partners participating in the project are not counted for the purposes of this criterion;

- The EU grant requested cannot be lower than EUR 75.000. There is no upper limit.

- Projects must not have started prior to the date of submission of the grant application.

 Project Duration: The initial duration of the projects should be between 18 and 30 months

 Budget and financial provisions: The indicative available budget under this call for proposals is EUR 3.000.000. The funding under this call is based on the co-financing principle: the grant cannot constitute more than 80% of overall eligible project costs. The beneficiaries should ensure that the outstanding balance is covered from sources other than the EU budget. The project budget must have revenue and expenditure in balance.
