Descrizione del progetto
The interplay between environmental harm and migration has gained significant attention in recent years due to the escalating impacts of climate change. Environmental harm, driven by human activities and natural disasters, has increasingly resulted in the displacement of populations, both internally and across borders.
Climate-induced migration is a prominent aspect of the ongoing endeavour to address the challenges posed by climate change.
The project is part of the broad scholarly debate on the knowledge divide between the Global North and the Global South and would contribute to generating theories, empirical research, and innovations to enhance global epistemology.
Within this general framework the overall objective of the project is to enhance the socio-legal approach on climate-induce migration through the international protection of climate migrants and the use of climate change litigation.
In particular, the specific objectives of the project are:
- S.O. no.1: To improve the understanding of the climate-induced migration issue (WP 1)
- S.O. no.2: To enhance the legal protection climate-induced migrants (WP 2)
- S.O. no.3: To assess the role of litigation as a strategy for social change (WP 3)
- S.O. no.4: To raise awareness among the general public, justice professionals, academic communities, and students on climate-induced migration (WP4).
